West-Moravian Zdar nad Sazavou (Saar an der Sazawa) town is situated at the frontier of Moravia and Bohemia in the centre of the Zdarske vrchy (protected landscape area) in Ceskomoravska Vysocina (Bohemian-Moravian Highland) region of Czech Republic. Town has about 24000 inhabitants. History of the town is closely associated with the development of the Cistercian monastery in Zdar and dates back to the 2nd half of the 13th century.
