The town of Kadan with its population of 80000 inhabitants is situated in the north-western region of Czech Republic where the Ohre river leaves the clasp of the Ore Mountains and the Doupovske Mountains. The royal town of Kadan is going to introduce itself as a modern, friendly and enjoyable town and a destination of visitors for both - business and tourism reasons. Kadan obtained the charter of a free royal town about 1259 and in 1277 the local castle became a seat of the burgrave of the Kadan region. Kadan observed its greatest bloom as a medieval town under the reign of King Charles IV. The importance he attached to the Kadan is documented by the fact he visited the town twice. In the days of the Hussite wars Kadan town belonged to a catholic camp, it was being conquered in the days of the Baroque, glove-making started being developed by the end of the 18th century and brown coal mining in the 19th century.
